This collection is based on my own small collection of vintage flower bricks. Each piece, entirely handmade from slabs of creamy white porcelain, takes an hour to make before decoration. I offer them in a few forms- classic rectangle, a flared trapezoid, and an oval cylinder that’s been impressed with an all-over allium pattern. The tops are either cut into a grid or pierced with holes for stems. I so enjoyed filling these bricks with garden flowers and foliage year-round.
These bricks measure approximately 5” x 3.5” x 2.5” for rectangles and trapezoids and 6.5x 4.5x 2.5 for the ovals.
Handbuilt work, especially pierced pieces such as these, is extremely fragile before firing and glazing.
I recommend either felt/cork pads or a small coaster to protect fine wood finishes from any possible scratches or seepage. Each piece is sanded and fully glazed in the interior, but better to be safe than sorry!
